Environmental Consulting :: Subsurface Investigations

Winefield & Associates, Inc. (W&A) evaluates soil and groundwater contamination using a myriad of hydrogeologic investigation tools. We determine the lateral and vertical extents of contamination for facilities ranging in size from 0.25 acre to 100 acres. W&A's subsurface investigation clients have included service station owners, refinery operators, solvent manufacturers, and municipalities conducting Brownfield redevelopment and management.

Typical investigation objectives include:

  • Drilling soil borings and collecting physical samples for site-specific stratigraphic characterization
  • Installing monitoring wells
  • Collecting samples for chemical characterization
  • Surveying monitoring well elevations and locations
  • Estimating groundwater flow based on survey data
  • Evaluating contaminant concentration distribution and migration potential

W&A also conducts:

  • Phase I assessments
  • Hydrogeologic computer modeling
  • Aquifer pump tests
